Cancel Action at Canandaigua Speedway

Several severe storms and high winds forced
officials to call it quits at Canandaigua Speedway
Saturday, April 26 at around 4pm. The severe
weather pushed in from the mid-west and hammered
western and central New York.
“We tried our best to wait out the storms this
weekend, but it was a losing battle,” said
Canandaigua Speedway General Manager, Jack Deery.
“Once you lose the racetrack it makes for a very

Billy Decker Out Duels Matt Sheppard in Canandaigua

weekend heading into the 45th Sunoco Race
Fuels season opener at Canandaigua Speedway on
Saturday, April 19. By night’s end, Decker would
visit victory lane for two consecutive events after
disposing of Matt Sheppard on lap-31 of the ‘Sunoco
Race Fuels 35’ at the ‘Land of Legends.’

Canandaigua Speedway Practice Cancelled Due to
Standing Water

from 12-3pm, has been cancelled as a result of
inches of standing water. Heavy rains over night
overwhelmed both the Speedway and parking areas,

An energetic crowd of over 200 racers congregated at
the Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack on Saturday,
November 10 to help celebrate the 2007 race season
for DIRTcar Sportsman, Street Stock, Pure Stock, and
Battle Karz teams that competed at Canandaigua
Speedway and Cayuga County Fair Speedway. Over
$20,000 was paid out in point funds to the six
divisions honored at this annual event.
