Monster Mayhem Events Cancelled

Monster Mayhem Cancelled at Cayuga County Fair and Canandaigua Speedways

Weedsport, NY – September 2, 2008 – By Dan Kapuscinski, Cayuga County Fair Speedway PR Coordinator

The Monster Mayhem Monster Truck shows originally scheduled for the weekend September 6th and 7th at Canandaigua and Cayuga County Fair Speedways have been cancelled due to scheduling conflicts.  A date for the 2009 season is already being discussed.

“We tried to get the show up and running at both venues for this racing season,” said General Manager, Jack Deery.  “A scheduling conflict in the past couple of weeks came about, and unfortunately we had to drop the shows for this year.  With our busy racing season coming up in the fall, we are going to have to start looking ahead to the 2009 season.  We know our fans love the monster trucks, and we’ll be sure to get them back next year.”

With these cancellations both Canandaigua and Cayuga County Fair Speedways will be closed for the next few weeks.

Canandaigua Speedway will return to action on Friday and Saturday September 19th and 20th for the LaBatt Blue RaceFest Weekend.  The Mr. DIRTcar 358-Modified Series will highlight Friday night’s racing action with the LaBatt Blue Light 75.  The Parts Plus Big 6 Street Stock Series will also be hitting the track that evening.

Saturday night the Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series returns to the ‘Land of Legends’ for the LaBatt Blue 100.  The Mr. DIRTcar Sportsman Modified Series will join the Big-Blocks for the running of the LaBatt Ice 45.  Racing on both evenings will kick-off at 7pm.

Cayuga County Fair Speedway will see action next during Super DIRT Week.  The Weedsport oval will play host to the Patriots American Sprint Car Series Championship on Friday, October 10th.  The Parts Plus Big 6 Street Stock Series and the ESDCA Mod Lites will also be on hand.  Racing will begin at 7:30pm.
