WEEDSPORT, NY_ Canandaigua, New York high school student Alysha Ruggles has been chosen by DIRTcar Northeast and it's race tracks Cayuga County Fair Speedway and Rolling Wheels Raceway for the 2010 season as it's victory lane representative.
Alysha, who finished second in the Ms DIRT Motorsports contest on Saturday night at the Syracuse Motorsports Expo, is the daughter of veteran racer Darryl Ruggles, who now is a regular with the 600cc Modified Midget traveling series. Ironically, Alysha is also a competitor with the 600 Modified Midget group as well.
Alysha is thrilled with the opportunity to represent Rolling Wheels Raceway and Cayuga County Fair Speedway for the 2010 season.
"It's a real honor and privilage," said Alysha, who spent much of her time at the Expo with her race car talking to race fans about the upcoming 2010 season. "I've been to those two tracks a lot watching my dad race so I'm really excited about my participation here."
Alysha will be at most races. In fact, she'll be racing at several shows as the Modified Midget 600 class will be at Cayuga County six times during the 2010 season. Her best finish away from Paradise Speedway, where she's won several times, was a second place showing at Ransomville Speedway in 2009. She finished right behind her dad in the event.
Alysha looks forward to representing both Rolling Wheels Raceway and Cayuga County Fair Speedway with professionalism.
